Experience/Education

With many years of early childhood education including the attendance of four California Association of the Education of Young Children (CAEYC) educational conferences, my interest and program reflects developmentally appropriate practices.  All staff have met or exceeded E.C.E. requirements with ongoing education.

Activities Offered

Children are afforded play-based learning through an enriched environment including a twenty-one wine barrel garden, enhanced backyard playground and High Scope Curriculum.

Daily routine consists of a literacy based circle time, creative art and stimulating sensory materials. Among other activities, children may freely choose to ride a bike, play in the sandbox, paint or read a story.  Inside cubbies are filled with developmentally appropriate materials that foster counting, sorting, organizing and classification.

Our History

Celebrating our 21 years of operation, we are a Nationally Accredited Childcare recognized in the May, 1998 Rosemont News and the February 26, 2003, Elk Grove Citizen for our creative and active environment.  Our home was also proudly included in the California Association of the Education of Young Children and the Sacramento Valley Association of the Education of Young Children (SVAEYC) featured tours.  Butterfly Garden was featured in the Sacramento Bee “Home & Garden” section  on October 11, 2008.
